Pros

Good set of people on the floor and good pay

Cons

Use to love coming to work but most of the good managers have left or are leaving. Other managers get bullied by other managers if they try to support you and some manager act like they are police with one who always shouts that he needs a body cam and hides behind pallets to spy on you or waits outside the toilet timing you waiting for you to come out

Thank you for sharing your experience and for your long service with Co-op. We’re pleased to hear you value your colleagues and the pay, but we’re concerned by the issues you’ve raised about management behaviour. We want all colleagues to feel respected and supported at work. Bullying or harassment is never acceptable, and we encourage anyone who experiences or witnesses this to raise it with their line manager, our People Team, or call our free, confidential helpline on 0800 640 9088 so we can act quickly. It’s good to hear you now have a supportive team manager, but no one should feel targeted or stressed by others. We’re committed to creating a positive and inclusive culture, and feedback like yours helps us understand where we need to improve. If you’d like to share more details, please reach out to your manager or our People Team so we can look into this further. If you're unsure how to raise this, the Ask Bobbi feature in MyHR can help support you.

Pros

- Good pay - A lot of other young people working there that you can get along with.

Cons

- Extremely toxic workplace, area manager has favourites and therefore, when you have an issue with one of her favourites, it doesn't get resolved. - They expect your whole life to revolve around the job even if you are just working part time alongside university. - If you work overtime, you wont see that pay until next months pay check. - Constant shoplifting, that you are apparently not allowed to sort out the shoplifters, but will also be made to feel like its your fault if they get away with a large quantity of stuff. - No security guards.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We're sorry that you feel this way. In regard to shoplifting, we apply a safety-first policy, in that colleagues should not to attempt to intervene. If you've been made to feel responsible then this is not acceptable and suggests that there is a misunderstanding on what our policy entails. You've also made some serious allegations about your operations manager and we'd like to know more about this. Please use the former colleague contact form to tell us more about your experience. You can find the form at colleagues.coop.co.uk/contacts
