Pros

My time with co-op was so bad that I don’t even remember any pros. They’ve been forced from my memory by all the cons.

Cons

Terrible training for the job. Zero team spirit. Everyone is out for themselves. It was awful.

Pros

Some staff are diamonds. Not much else is a con oh wait we get Christmas day off to, and I quote "relax and enjoy Christmas with family" ohhh thanks a whole day off..... Wait I have to take holidays to have that off every though we are closed?

Cons

Expected to carry the team. Not all team leader work the same but if their face fits nothing will be said on their poor performances. If your in with the manager then you're ok. Managers are usually mates of the area manage, and most can't do their jobs very well (phoning team leaders in other stores to ask how to do tasks is diabolical). Extras pay isn't worth the extra stress and work load. They take away hours and expect the same work to get done. WhatsApp like an alarm that doesn't stop morning noon and night. Policy's that favour shop lifters and trouble makers rather than ones that protect the staff. Constantly dealing with shop lifters but no backing from coop, no security and we have to watch and left them leave and don't challenge them. Some customers can be so obnoxious and you have to just do your best to still assist them without loosing your cool while they talk down to you even when they are wrong. If you need a job then it may be ok short term but my advice is work somewhere else, the extra cash from CTM to TL isn't worth it imo, you'll essentially be doing the team manager's job for team leader money (I know as the team manager job was dropped 3 plus years ago).

Thanks for sharing your reflections after more than a decade with us. We appreciate the contribution you made as a Team Leader and the commitment that comes with such long service. We’re sorry to hear that your experience left you feeling unsupported. We know that leadership consistency and fair workload distribution are essential, and we continue to invest in development and clearer expectations for managers and team leaders. We hope that you spoke up about your concerns at the time. On policy enforcement, we understand how difficult it can be to manage repeat shoplifting and disruptive behaviour. Our policies are designed to protect colleagues, but we know they don’t always feel that way in practice. We continue to invest in technology and resources to support stores, including security measures and escalation routes to make sure colleagues feel safe and supported. Thanks again for your feedback. We hope you’ve found a role that feels more rewarding, and we wish you all the best for the future.

We are concerned about the comments you've made regarding your customers and to see them listed as one of the negative aspects of the Customer Team Member role doesn't align with our commitments to providing great service within our communities. We recommend that you talk to your manager about the best way to manage any frustrations you're having in your role.
