Austin Office - Big Bait and Switch from interview to actual job
Pros
It's near some good restaurants in Austin for doing to after work. That's really about it.
Cons
The New CEO is trying to save money by removing the current contracting firm Cognizant, and replacing them with lower paid full time employees, and contractors from Infosys. This has lead to 3 major issues: A) Around 90% of the IT jobs are filled by Cognizant. As a result, Conduent is losing all that experience at once. Anyone, who takes a job here, will be basically having to learning there job in a very short time without much documentation, and limited training. B) As Conduent is trying to get people in the door, they are lying about on call. I was told, during the interview, that I would be on call once every 16 weeks. After I took the job, I was told it would be once every 3 weeks. C) As Conduent is trying to get people in the door, they are lying about the amount of vacation time. In the offer letter, it was written 2 weeks vacation time (which is really quite bad for a white collar IT job). After I took the job, I was told that it's not 2 weeks vacation time. It's 2 weeks vacation/sick time. YOU DON'T GET ANY SICK TIME. ANY SICK DAYS EAT INTO YOUR TINY 2 WEEKS OF VACATION!
