      Constant layoffs, no raises, poor management, no advancement

      Pros

      - Ability to work from home - Unlimited vacation days - It's a job

      Cons

      - Constant layoffs and tremendous workload - Benefits have been diminished and no raises - Moved to unlimited vac days which means when you are laid off you don't get paid for your accumulated time - Outsourcing jobs to other countries and continually laying off employees in the US

      From EDS to DXC in 20 Years!

      Not sure I can think of one....

      20 years ago, I joined EDS, a product agnostic services company, which had strategy, skills, expertise and hunger for success.....through all the various take-overs/merges/spins, I am now employed by a product agnostic services company with no strategy, receding skills & expertise (workforce exits) and (it seems) no hunger for success.....it feels like a venture capital company is conducting an asset stripping exercise on my employer, but it's actually the senior leadership!! Might explain why I am just about to exit the company in favour of a company who wants to employ me!!

      Pros

      There is some limited flexibility for occasional home working. That’s the only pro I can offer. Hotel budget for overnight stays was acceptable.

      Cons

      Personal objectives totally at odds with requirements of assignment. Basically felt that I was set up to fail. Recruiting aggressively whilst paying off experienced staff. Not enough resource or skills to service delivery demands. Senior staff predominantly contractors.
