Going out of business?

Pros

pay is ok, can work remotely, management is trying to get into profitable IT business's but without enough skilled people.

Cons

Going out of business. CEO takes money first, none left over for employees. Meeting cost reduction targets is number one goal if not the only, fooling Wall St. is also a primary goal of CEO and CFO, example, they didn't like having unused vacation on the balance sheet as a liability, so their final solution was to no longer account for it . Too bad the human capital (skill) is never accounted for so investors can see how much it has declined over the years.

Pros

I find it really hard to find any pros of working for DXC, but I will try. - Chaos breeds opportunities. If you are smart and proactive, you can get a role and experience far above your grade. This is not an intention by design though. DXC simply lacks enough capable people. Anyone willing to take a challenge, to step up and fix a mess will get noticed. - A few good teams, and people.

Cons

- Rock bottom morale. Because of the neverending redundancies, people have lost the will to live. Most see the job as just a paycheck. - The company is ruled by a profiteering regime. All power is effectively concentrated in Mike Lawrie's hands. Any dissenting voices get shut down. You only have to look at the attrition rate among veeps and executives. - 0 pay raises. - No vision or strategy. The maximisation of shareholder value is not a valid mission, especially in this day and age. Shareholder value is a byproduct of a successful business, not vice versa. Jack Welch famously called it "the dumbest idea". - Probably one of the highest attrition rates in the industry.

Pros

In the Government Healthcare division, the people are outstanding. I have been blessed to say that I have worked along side the best in the business. They truly care about the clients and the outcome results of the operations for the states.

Cons

With the "merger", the bottom line is all that seems to matter. And with the "work force reductions" (basically firing as replacements with no experience are hired immediately) continuing to ravage the experience and knowledge base of the division, the clients are going to suffer.
