Pros

Good people , good leadership , open communication , flexibility , easy to move within

Cons

I am in the IT org , too many changes in the last year, projects running behind schedule, lack of investment in adding people with the right skills on important projects.

Pros

There are lots of job opportunities to be had if you're looking for broad experience. Work life balance is good if you'e in the right job. Benefits and pay are competitive.

Cons

There are no career paths so if you want to earn a promotion you have to just network and change jobs to something with relative experience to what you posses. Becoming an expert in your job isn't rewarded, but instead limits your pay. You also have to navigate unprofitable areas of the business or else you risk being laid off. Also this company is run by type A personalities. If you want to be in management you have to be very outgoing and be able to play politics. Being a manager at Dell has little to do with what you know and more to do with who you know and how you present yourself.

Pros

Liked that I could work with many teams, exposed to many projects, and learned a great amount. Working remotely and flexible vacation time was a big plus.

Cons

After receiving many awards both from Dell and industry, generating hundreds of millions in Pipeline, and ranked "best of" within my org I received my bonus two times in 4 years. Once when I started and once when I was laid off during their usual cost cutting exercise. No logic to cutting highly impactful talent. Felt insulted and then asked to come back 4 months later by 3 groups. No where to move up to unless a senior person takes a severance package. Little room for promotion until the next reorg which happens every 6 months or so. No raises other than my first year due to a freeze. Paid for my own business cards. Lots of great talent left there. Went from amazing job to depressing. Glad I was laid off in the end. My entire team and org is gone less than 6 months of me leaving. I secured millions of outside funds to support our programs. I got laid off and that killed the funding for them. Sad...
