Pros

Great company, great benefits, GREAT products. I like working there because we have good products to sell into a ripe market for the taking. Dell is making great strides to compete and take significant market share from our competitors. Being such a large company, there are a tremendous amounts of resources available to help you accomplish your goals. we also have great brand recognition in the market which help. i like the people, the quality of life working from home, and the team i work with. They pay me well, i have great flexibility, and thats important to me me.

Cons

sheer volume of accounts, depending on which segment you are in, makes it difficult to clearly identify job responsibilites and gets cloudy. Dell is in the process of converting its SMB business into a storage giant with some of its recent acquisitions. the market is there, but in order for us to capture it, there needs to be changes in the sales process, the quality of the leads coming to the field, and accountability. Furthermore, I dont have a clear idea as to what my next step is in my career at Dell which is important to me as well.

Pros

Best reasons are the ease of the job itself. Glad Mike D is back. I know Kevin Rollins is a great guy, but leadership must have lacked. Stock is down and rumors of fiscal abuse in wsj have hurt Dell's reputation.

Cons

Can be hectic keeping up with the different changes. Rumors of being arbitrarily fired keep stress level up. Requirement (although presented as non-mandatory) of Overtime was a killer. Also, it is next to impossible to figure out your pay, it is based off of an algorithm that is not readily presented to employees. In 3 years of working there, I have yet to meet anyone at Dell who is able to actually figure out their pay.
