      Good place to work, but hours are tough

      Pros

      Deloitte (or any of the Big 4) are a great place to get started in a career. You will learn a ton in a short period of time, plus get very good pay and raises compared to other jobs.

      Cons

      There is always work to be done, so the hours in Big 4 firms are very tough, especially once you have a family. Between commuting and working, you will spend around 50 hours during non-busy periods, and 65+ during peak times. These aren't things that can really be improved much, it's just the nature of the business.

      Upward movement if you want it. A lot of knowledgeable people to learn from

      Staffing not communicated to employees. Talks all about work life balance but does not practice it.

      Benefits are great, generous time off, company name is a plus on resume, good internal training

      Cons

      Promotion is non-existent (in my role, at least). A lot of promises about career advancement at the interview/orientation. You learn after busting your behind that no matter what you do, a career level advancement will never come.
