      Deloitte is a big multinational organization that has a huge brand name and very intelligent people. Deloitte respects worklife balance and emphasizes on training a lot even in times of economic difficulty

      The salary at Deloitte is slightly less than its peers but if you look at the total compensation and benefits, it is at par

      Pros

      Exposure to many international cultures due to the secondment program. Good system of taking time off or getting paid for overtime during peak seasons, as the time off becomes more valuable relative to earnings. Opportunities to go abroad in the Asia-Pacific region.

      Cons

      As with the other big accounting firms, advancement is largely influenced by management's perception and less on quality of work. Long hours and menial wages translate into high turnover for non-management level staff. Recruitment is less strict than in other regions, with many junior staff / college graduates coming from all disciplines, including foreign language, western history, etc.

      Pros

      Pay is excellent, people are good to work with, in general. The benefits are good, and there are opportunities to "opt out" of being a partner. However, you need to be aware that there is a price to pay for "opting out" of that path. You will never realize the respect that those who didn't "opt out" have.

      Cons

      A partnership is a pyramid, in general. You need to know this, going in, and be willing to sacrifice a lot in the name of devotion to the people at the top of that pyramid, and recognize that if you are not clearly pursuing being at the top of that pyramid, you will NOT survive.
