Pros

Discover has great benefits, and decent pay. The people that work here are wonderful, so HR has a great sense of someone it seems.

Cons

Micro managing, they fire tons of people, constantly. So you have to stay on your toes. The work is boring.

Discover's Pros and Cons

Pros

The organization has some of the best benefits regarding healthcare, 401K, and paid time off. Another pro is that the majority of the leadership understand work/life balance and attempt to be flexible when it comes to that balance.

Cons

The headquarters location is in the suburbs of Chicago, so a commuter could spend 60-120 minutes traveling each way to and from work; however, they have recently opened up a remote office in downtown Chicago and business areas are trying to provide more flexibility for working remotely on a consistent basis.

Pros

Small company structure. Exposure to management and variety of job opportunities. Primarily a good place for recent college graduates and/ or those with five years or less experience.

Cons

Limited opportunities for promotion. Inconsistent leadership training and guidance.
