Pros

Advancement opportunities are EVERYWHERE. Discover really does value the experience that's gained from being on the job. The Benefits are ok. Oh, and the pay sucks, I started at 11.50/hr. American Express, just down the street starts at 16.00 /hr. for the same job.

Cons

The metrics that are used to measure performance, "iShine," is the most ridiculous means for measuring how well you are doing. As a CSR you probably take around 3000 calls a month and 5 random calls are chosen and scored - this is what raises are based on, not to mention if you do not meet a certain score you will eventually be fired. It was the most stressful part of the job for a lot of us.

Pros

Good company values that the employees all know and try to take to heart. Good people. Good opportunities for advancement. Stable.

Cons

Lower pay than competitive. Departments are territorial. Many with a "not in my backyard" attitude.
