Pros

Good training and good trainees

Cons

Horrible Supervisors horrible support from HR and higher up bosses. HR never handled any of my complaints and always used 3rd party call centers to handle important employee information and claims. Treated HORRIBLY by hr. If you file any complaints with HR, expect some sort of retaliation. Very toxic work environment where you can be #1 in stats and still get yelled at by your supervisor.

Pros

Pay is ok. Benefits are good, Health insurance, Remote

Cons

Health insurance is expensive. Don't take the night shift unless you want to go crazy. The weekends are the worst that's why they pay you just a little more. It's not worth it. You are graded on I matter, if you work the weekends kiss that good bye. Managers are not motivated to see you grow as long as you are doing your job they don't care. Plus if you work the late Shift expect your manager to be MIA on the weekends. I don't really know why they give us one. Since the coaches help more than they do. Coaches are good and probably the best thing when you get a good one. Most will help you with training but only call when something is looking bad with your calls. Expectations with Discover are high, so they want you to be top notch. Your graded on how well you can suck up to the customer on behave of Discover. Even if the customer and the talk off where spot on if the customer is not happy then it's your fault. Start in banking they pay a lot better and you won't be a machine!

Pros

Benefits are competitive When the Pandemic Hit Discover Successfully moved nearly all of its staff to WAH set ups within two months, preventing a lot of illness.

Cons

Pay is at bottom of industry standards when compared to other centers in the state. Middle Management (Many Team Leaders and Department Managers) are more focused on making themselves look good and ignoring or hiding problems than actually addressing them. Upper Management far too often takes their word as true without reviewing facts or details. Politics run rampant between departments. Compliance Dept has to tip-toe and play politics just to handle risk mitigation. Some departments will actively avoid handling things in their wheel house because the negatives are conveniently in another department's numbers and finances.
