      These bros pay better than The Fund or GCI, but otherwise they're basically the same as those crappy companies.

      Pros

      You'll probably like at least a couple of your coworkers. The canvassing world is filled with misfits and weirdos.

      Cons

      While these dudes (and everyone in any position of leadership/power is most certainly a DUDE, bro!) pay better than the crappiest of crappy for-profit companies that do canvass support for non-profits, they learned everything they know from the worst of them: The Fund for the Public Interest and Grassroots Campaigns, Inc. DDS is just like the rest of 'em because they prey on the naiveté of wide-eyed idealists and use them until they're used up.

      Pros

      My canvassing director was amazing, really focusing on team growth Your team mates will generally be awesome Occasional work social activities, which is really nice! You're working for a cause that matter You'll build thick skin getting told "no" all the time You'll meet awesome people at the door

      Cons

      You'll meet some not so awesome people at the door Pay is low, and the bonus incentives can be hard to reach sometimes No real room for growth after Field Manager (opening up new offices takes forever) The job is pretty repetitive; you'll be saying the same thing over and over again Top management can be really cold Daily training is really, really repetitive
