Pros

Nice office, good snacks and free lunch occasionally. SDR is a hard position no matter what company but the Dynatrace product is a good software and makes it easier to sell especially as a first job out of college.

Cons

Inclusivity for females was a con.

Value of IT-related degrees is overlooked

At Dynatrace, compensation is strictly determined by years of professional experience, rather than the perceived value of one’s degree. As a result, despite holding a tech-related degree and having the same job title as my colleagues, I receive only tiny annual salary increases due to my limited experience. This has led to significant gaps in compensation within my team. This approach undermines our company’s salary competitiveness, particularly when compared to our primary competitors, Splunk and DataDog.

While certain education and degrees may be valuable depending on the position, there are other factors we might consider when determining compensation, such as tenure, impact on the success of our company, and alignment to our values and culture. That’s why we continually assess our salary structures to remain competitive in the market, in addition to offering annual promotion cycles and merit raises.
