Pros

Salary is good when joined.

Cons

I was initially very excited to join EPAM. My original joining date was in the first week of October 2025, but just two days before, HR postponed it to the second week. Then, just one day before my new joining date, HR informed me that the position was put on hold and I could not be onboarded. This was shocking because I had already served my notice period at my previous company. After repeatedly following up, I was told I could only be hired at a downgraded role (Software Engineer instead of Senior Software Engineer) with a reduced CTC. Since I had no other offer and was unemployed at the time, I reluctantly accepted. Once I joined, things did not improve. The client name and tenure were not disclosed during hiring, but I assumed it was fine as this was a permanent role with EPAM. However, after just six months on a project, it ended, and I was moved to the bench—where I found 250+ employees already waiting, including many new hires. On the bench, employees are forced into mandatory programs (like incubation, DSA programs, etc.), where they must give daily updates, demos, and clear internal interviews every week before even being considered for a client project. These internal interviews are extremely rigid, and unless you answer every question perfectly, you won’t be moved forward to client interviews. Most projects are short-term, despite client managers initially assuring a minimum tenure of two years. The constant bench pressure, repeated interviews, and lack of stability severely affect mental health and confidence. Many employees either resign out of frustration or are eventually asked to leave. Overall, the experience has been extremely stressful, demotivating, and far from what was promised during the hiring process.

Cons

1). Unified assessment is not worth it as it is for name sake just to impress candidates before joining. 2). Career progression very slow (takes 3 years time to move up the ladder). 3). More legacy projects 4). Don't have diversity & Inclusion practice 5). Hire & Fire without and planning (EPAM Systems laid off 100 employees; revokes new joinees' offer letters.) Just google the news 6). .NET, GOLang, Java Candidates offer commitments were not kept after Offer (Onboarding was postponed for 2months and later candidates had to joined other organizations). 7). Prefers same language candidates in their specific teams to join and work with them. 9). If you are getting interviewed by Chief Engineer please do not take interview as he is not qualified.. simply ask unnecessary questions and reject you. 11). I did refer many good candidates to him but he has rejected them all during the interviews. kindly request interviews with any genuine SA rather scheduling with Chief Engineer. 12). No onsite opportunity. 13). No Employee Engagement activities (No Team building activities or outings or trips). 14). Client interview after joining. 15). Will ask you to work out of client place. 16). HR team - Not existing at Epam.. Epam is ruled by Delivery team. 17). Recruiters giving false information before joining.

Pros

Excellent engineering staff, very talented offshore resources, excellent methodology and great work ethic.

Cons

Management. The company is thankless and cynical about their employees. At worst it is a body shop and the managers over here are practiced at using leverage to under pay, treat people poorly and keep them off balance. Salary is low. Bonuses are lied about and not paid. Reviews do not happen Management badmouths employees to other employees and badmouths each other to employees, customers and each other. No career development
