Pros

The culture (employee driven) is amazing. A great group of people to work with. The casual atmosphere in the Oz Studio workplace makes coming to work a pleasant experience. Facilities are great - free parking, in house cafe, gym etc. Potential travel opportunities eg to US, Macau, NZ and Au. Lower end of management is great. No micromanagement, lots of flexibility and independence to work how you want to is allowed.

Cons

Lack of career progression in some roles The lackluster Salary. The graduate program at the time of my first 2 years almost non-existent apart from the title you're given and the grad wages.

Pros

Excellent company. Clear winner in the sector. Treats its people well even as it manages through business cycles and need to be leaner in some areas. Committed to maintaining industry leadership through heavy investment in best content / products.

Cons

Nothing major. Could move faster at times, but making progress there.

Pros

Flexible work hours, a well-located office, and solid workplace amenities remain positives. Most importantly, the people you work alongside are talented, collaborative, and committed. Colleagues — not leadership — are what make the job worthwhile.

Cons

Leadership and management are the most significant issues facing the company today. Six or more years ago, Aristocrat was widely regarded as a gold standard for people-first culture within the slot gaming industry. Leadership emphasized employee well-being and demonstrated strong support during the pandemic. That culture has materially eroded. Many of the long-tenured leaders who built that environment are gone. In their place are several externally hired managers who appear to have been selected primarily for industry tenure rather than proven leadership capability. The result in some teams is a culture of micromanagement, reactive decision-making, and constant scrutiny. Instead of coaching and empowerment, employees often experience “gotcha” oversight and unnecessary pressure. Equally concerning is the lack of effective escalation pathways. HR often defers conflict resolution back to the same management layers that may be contributing to the issue, creating tension rather than resolution. When psychological safety erodes, engagement, innovation, and retention follow. The organization’s reputation as a people-first employer has been severely weakened, and competitors are benefiting from the departure of experienced talent.
