Business Outlook

Pros

Technology leading semiconductor company. Has many of the original engineers who joined ARM during its start-up days still working actively which gives credibility to the objectives defined by the company. Have seen and worked with some brilliant engineers which is a pleasure. But this number is not increasing unfortunately. A well designed work life balance and trusts the employees to do their job. Open and liberal work atmosphere which encourages collaboration.

Cons

IT infrastructure still immature like a start-up and impacts projects negatively. India center has quite lot of middle/senior management kludge who lack technical depth for their position and are just paper pushers and resist change to status qua. Does not believe in homegrown talent and no good growth prospects as it favours getting people from outside to fill positions, Due to expansion rigor in hiring sacrificed resulting in people with mediocre skills ending up with responsible positions.

Thanks for the feedback and advice. You are absolutely correct that we need to scale talent. As noted in previous responses, we are expanding our IT department and infrastructure in all offices to match in the 2nd half of 2014.
