Pros
As a full-time student and full-time employee, having flexible scheduling was my main draw to working at Best Buy. Working as part of a close-knit team made daily tasks enjoyable. Employee discounts and benefits encouraged loyalty, as sticking around for good accommodations seemed like a no-brainer. They typically promoted from within.
Cons
Sales targets. Total dollars earned for the company, total number of credit card applications, total number of accounts signed up for geek squad services or other programs. You were only as valuable as the revenue you generated. This lead to some unhealthy competition and some pushy employees overtaking sales from more passive employees. Promotions didn't always go to the most qualified candidate, but sometimes to the biggest suck-up. Lack of creativity in training the sales force. The same schtick was repeated over and over to "motivate" better performance from the sales floor.
