Pros
If you get a good Store Manager (which I did) you'll enjoy your team, the culture, your days, and likely the people you work with. The job can be fun, and easy, and you don't take baggage home with you. I made friends for life while working here. Discounts are pretty good on the everyday kind of things. Non-commission environment means you're not incentivized to be greasy when selling. Greasy pizza and mall food is abundant if that's your thing.
Cons
Expected to be greasy when selling, and to hustle like you stand to benefit at all from doing so. Sales competitions are constant, when you win, you get 4 dollars worth of greasy pizza. The seemingly huge wage gap between store managers and the standard floor worker means that they have a bit of a churn-and-burn approach to employment unless they get hired in some sr. role. The absolute bottom end of pay scale on some national policy means that in a place like Kelowna where 45k a year is the poverty line, you work there until you can't afford to work there anymore. A year can go by with no hope of advancement because those positions are held for a long time You're expected to celebrate the $150 dollars extra you'll make after tax from the 10 cents per hour raise you get.
