Pros

Great corporate culture (globally). Great visibility in job market. Very good start point to start your career to learn corporation 101. Good benefits but below the market salaries. Talented young people, friendly atmosphere. Global career opportunites

Cons

In Citi you will never get promoted because of your skill set or your achievements. If you want a successful career with career growth, you need to learn who to be friends with and learn to never say "no" (even in impossible situations). I have witnessed, many times, the struggle of the foreigners, as the general mentality in Citi is that, you have to know Polish to be successful. Otherwise, you are just a person who is closed to communication. With no chance to be in the management team. You will be asked to do overtime (paid) almost every day (including saturdays). In the mean time, you will witness tons of people not doing the target but getting the same credit as you do. Management mentality usually based on "saving the day", instead of fixing the problem. There is this saying in Citi management: "There are no problems until someone says so". And "someone" here is the upper management. If you would like to be successful in Citi, the easiest way is to be in a "development program". Just to make the programs look "better", all program members are always get promoted to positions that they don't even have an idea. And the people who actually have a great experience, will be doing their job without any chance of promotion and half of the salary. At the end of they these people will receive official certifications while experts/high performers receive nothing. Senior management prefers their management team to be obedient people without any skill requirement. This creates a huge issue in times of challenges as they are usually incapable of handling the pressure or finding solutions to even small matters. If you win a prize (instant recognition), there is a big chance that you won't receive it but instead get a" day off" replacement. In Citi, there is always a budget cut. Management is usually too lazy to speak English (with some exceptions) There are no free coffee, tea or milk. You need to bring it yourself.

Pros

Great benefits (PTO, healthcare, etc.) for FTEs

Cons

Everything else - Carousel of management changes - Vague and ever-changing role/job descriptions and associated metrics - The constant feeling that we're all about to be laid off but must "prove" our value in the meantime
