Pros

Work has good level of complexity ... there is plenty of it ... it is varied Global organization with (theoretically at least) global opportunities Decent benefit package Modern offices with good facilities and location

Cons

Work-life balance - seen as a resource, not a human being by management. The expected norm seems to be like pre-9am to post-5pm with virtually zero breaks. On top of this expected-overtime, occasional over-overtime can be demanded Culture seems to be work-hard, not work-hard-play-hard, it's just all about cranking stuff out as quickly as humanly possible before the next tasks come flying at you. Don't think I've smiled more than a dozen times since I started in the company ... it is literally that work-oriented Politics - seems that tenure/connections/seniority can be more important than knowledge/objective idea value Some very knowledgeable and helpful colleagues, some opposite to that, which can be frustrating given point above about politics Salary increases and convoluted annual review process. Working here may mean you fall behind peers outside of Citi, who in addition to higher salary could also have better work-life balance

Pros

Great benefits (PTO, healthcare, etc.) for FTEs

Cons

Everything else - Carousel of management changes - Vague and ever-changing role/job descriptions and associated metrics - The constant feeling that we're all about to be laid off but must "prove" our value in the meantime
