Pros

Excellent co-workers, my mangers were very understanding

Cons

Quite demoralising work, fairly average pay but not what I had applied for. Was reassured during recruitment process it would not be transactional, but thats all it was. Very long hours, equating to less than min wage. Not quite sure why anyone stays, labour turnover close to 30%, other teams higher. The jobs are just beyond what they are currently able to automate. Pay rises are minimal, promotions are total BS, given a worthless title and way more work - think 30 AVP’s on one floor, laughable really.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
