Pros

Decent sick/vacation time Casual office environment Good coworkers. Good work/life balance Schedule flexibility Plenty of job openings to move into advanced positions (to a point)

Cons

Communication in the company is non-existent. There may be a change but we won't hear about it until a week later. The company does not provide email or instant messaging, meaning all communication is by mouth. Tech support is non-existent taking months to repair a small problem with a computer. The new dialer system used is buggy and half the features do not work requiring extensive workarounds. In collections, they have a unrealistic call model that frustrates customers as they are asked why they are late every time they are contacted (every 3 days), as well as about a million other questions. The emphasis is no longer on money collected but is now on call quality, which would be fine if the calls were not scored where even a small mistake completely fails you. There is no translation line meaning customers who do not speak english or spanish are out of luck. Supervisors say they will be "working closely with you" then will meet with you once during the month. There is a great difference in the amount of support and motivation depending on who your supervisor is. When you find out the name of your supervisor and the other sup's say "I'm sorry" there is a problem. You will find random things on your score card that are not relevant or are completely false.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
