Pros
I’m new to the team and best things I can see so far - Very good benefits and salary. Onboarding was quick and efficient. Team members seem nice enough.
Cons
Cultures and values, diversity and inclusion, work/life balance. Really big ticket items here that the organisation is focusing on so I’m guessing they know they have a problem. But is anything really happening to address this? I’ve just joined but feel like I’ve gone back in time surrounded by condescending men and micro-managing task masters management. People yelling in meetings, no trust from management, micro-managing, expectations to work long hours not on output. Before joining you have to sign something that basically waves your right to working the regulated maximum hours per week. Very few women I see are there to be seen (and to check the diversity quota) not heard. I think I’m pretty outspoken but even I’m feeling uncomfortable. In this day and age, these conditions are highly unusual I would’ve thought. So I’ve seen all these items promoted in the news about Citi’s focus and success, before joining, and really it’s could not be anymore different in reality.
