Pros
- Money (Unlimited cap, lunches, spiffs) - Environment (Contests, playful environment, coworkers can be friends) -Big Company (Resources and career mobility) -Education (Strong marketable skillset despite where your next move is) I have been apart of three organizations, and I can say that Dell checks a lot of boxes. It is a great location, pay is very fair, and there is career growth so long as you hit your number and have good relationships with your peers and management. The skillset you develop will be very marketable (consultative selling, full-cycle closing, qualifying). This position will set you up for success, and you'll make a lot of money and have a lot of fun along the way.
Cons
-Detached leadership -Unethical sales practices are celebrated -Quotas are dependent on other people The middle management is dangerously political with an unclear vision that directly impacts the morale of the floor. Since I've worked there, the culture has deteriorated. Quotas can be determined by favoritism. They are overhiring and the quality of hires have been declining. Management turns a blind eye to unethical work practices, and are in many instances rewarded because of the number they're able to hit with shady tactics.
