Pros
Loved the people that worked there, apart from certain managers but didn’t have to deal with them very often. 15% discount for you and immediate family. Very easy interview process and you are likely to get the job if you apply.
Cons
Regular stock takes where you are bending over large freezers counting produce by hand (usually from 7-10pm) Heavy lifting and constant rushing to get stock out as we were usually understaffed with one or two people doing a delivery of 18+ pallets of stock. No set shifts each week and constant changes of the rota at last minute and without your knowledge or consent, I couldn’t look at my Rota for the next week and expect it to stay like that, I had to check everyday to make sure which as you can imagine is draining to have to constantly think of work. Early and late shifts (with the management positions being expected to do 14hr long days staring at 6am and finishing at 8pm) Everyone I know that works or worked at Farmfoods has either left the job or is planning to, all of my colleagues hold the same views on the job as me. In my five and a half months of working there 8 people left their jobs and the store in turn gained 1 more member of staff during that time. Really long shifts where I could go 8hrs before getting a break. The place overall is depressing, there is no form of stimulation during a shift as there’s no music and no kind of decoration or colour anywhere, you are in silence other then chatting to customers and the constant beeping of tills, with no time to do anything different then the norm each day it can get really draining to be there for so long.
