Horrible company to work for - Retail Assistant Farmfoods Employee Review

Everything else you could imagine, unprofessional and corrupt managers, low pay, treated as if you don’t have a life outside of work and are expected to drop everything important in your personal life for Farmfoods, no sick pay at all unless you’re a manager, half of the shops have no security and the staff are expected to deal with shoplifters who often carry weapons and get aggressive and violent and throw things at us and hit us, depending on the manager, sometimes rotas aren’t sorted until the night before the shift, got told off for not wanting to work on my birthday which I’d already booked off months in advance and the manager ‘forgot’, so much wrong with this company, no employee benefits at all other than discount and a Christmas bonus, only apply for a job here if you’re desperate, so many people have quit since I started here, no one stays long and if you’re wondering why all of the staff look about 16, it’s because they can be paid less.
