Pros

15% discount on food and drink

Cons

Far too much work to do and with such little staff. Manager took it upon herself to complete 100+ hours per week due to the awful complete lack of support from head office. Head office also decide that all stock should be moved on a whim, causing the staff to have to move around 90 freezers - only for said freezers to be moved back a few days later. Farmfoods also require all employees to complete manual stock takes every few weeks as they use an outdated I.T system that doesn't count stock automatically upon being sold. During my time there out stock was count was lower than expected, causing us to have to do stock takes more due to suspected theft. It turns out however that this was a problem caused by a counting issue further up the chain but that we were left with the fallout. The main issue with farmfoods is that there is always more work to be done due to how little staff there are, this either means people staying later than paid, things being left for the next day causing them to be even further behind, or things just flat-out not being done, with store management taking the blame for it. The only reason out shop stayed afloat was because the manager literally done the work of 3 people (100 hours plus per week, only ebing paid for the first 45), and recieved very little thanks from the company in the process. Farmfoods is simply an awful place to work and I would advise you steer clear. Might as well get a job at ALDI - same conditions with better pay.

Cons

Micro management I’ve never experienced in 10 years of retail management. They’re living in the stone ages in terms of technology. Hourly staff get paid to 15 mins so upper management will try and shaft your pay in the name of prod, no clock in/out machine so you’re reliant on managers clocking you accurately. Everything they do is just weird and backwards. They don’t believe in employee law, 11 hour rest period being the big one.
