Pros

The best part about working at Hopper is that it is a remote organization. They advertise that they pay well but good luck having them pay your commission.

Cons

If I could go back in time and not accept this role I would. My manager at Hopper never set clear goals, was constantly changing goal posts in the middle of the quarter, and commission payout would often change after the quarter ended. Everyday I woke up and never knew what to expect from my manager or senior leadership. Senior leaders would say you should be happy to even be here and if you are expecting job stability to see your way out. Managers often would add random side projects to your plate that took up the majority of your day and then they would wonder why you couldn’t hit a weekly goal. Hopper has no town halls - unless they just fired people, and you NEVER hear from your seniors. The leaders at this company are often on LinkedIn talking about how they think they figured out how to create a productive workforce. What they really did was just steal other companies ideas and hide to investors what is really going on behind closed doors. There is also no ERG, HR or any diversity training. Leaders all look the same and there is clearly bias among who gets hired, fired, and promoted. Do not believe me? - look at the company LinkedIn.

Pros

pay, remote, some good/smart people in pockets

Cons

Senior leaders could not care less about employees and routinely make bad market decisions leading to foreseeable product issues and eventual layoff cycles. There was a time a few years back where employees criticized the dark patterns in the app - the president got pissed and said 'the data didn't show it was an issue', then a few months later when we got bad press about those patterns dismissed it as our competitors planting stories - sums up the culture pretty clearly.
