Pros

As a former software engineer at Hopper.com, I feel compelled to share my experience for those considering opportunities there. The company culture presented several challenges, and I often found the product offerings lacked uniqueness, sometimes feeling they could be replaced by basic online searches. I noticed that strategic planning seemed short-sighted, with upper management appearing to focus more on immediate gains rather than sustainable growth. This approach led to frequent layoffs, particularly in certain departments like Price Freeze that was mismanaged. I recommend potential employees research any recent legal developments concerning the company. Staying informed about ongoing issues can provide valuable insight into the company's stability and future prospects.

Cons

If you're considering a position, I strongly suggest asking thorough questions during the interview process. Understanding the company's long-term vision and how they value employee retention could help determine if it's the right fit for you.

Pros

pay, remote, some good/smart people in pockets

Cons

Senior leaders could not care less about employees and routinely make bad market decisions leading to foreseeable product issues and eventual layoff cycles. There was a time a few years back where employees criticized the dark patterns in the app - the president got pissed and said 'the data didn't show it was an issue', then a few months later when we got bad press about those patterns dismissed it as our competitors planting stories - sums up the culture pretty clearly.
