Pros
Great pay for the role No set targets, it isn't a pressured environment Not a typical 9-5 monday to friday job (this can be a pro or con) Great benefits through being linked with HSBC bank Preferential rate on M&S credit card as a perk Huge number of employee discounts at large retailers
Cons
Can feel micromanaged and like you're still a school child the way you are treated by management Managers will use favouritism as a tool to who is allowed to progress and who is not Working bank holidays Over christmas you can be working until 9pm depending on which store you are working in Your job title is misleading as you don't really do what a bank assistant does, most of your day is spent on the M&S shop floor with the retail team trying to sell credit cards.
