Pros
Once you get the hang of working in the bureau the work is really easy. Counting and selling money, cashing up, etc. definitely requires numeracy skills but nothing really complicated ever happens and at times it can be really laid back with few customers. So once you get your head round all the maths and how to count money its a dream job-- Sit on a seat most of the day and do relatively straight forward transactions.
Cons
There are loads of extra anti-fraud rules to pick up and a very steep learning curve when you start. You have to get your head round calculator maths, foreign currencies and counting loads of money in front of a customer- all while also keeping up with regular anti-fraud detection tests. The worst thing about this job is that you just get paid the same as everyone else in the store. Which is a great salary for retail but it won't take long before you realise you're doing a lot more than people on the shop floor and that a lot more is expected of you. Also it gets mental busy at half terms and summer holiday time. You need to keep your head because its so easy to make mistakes when there are queues or pressure to finish cashing up on time
