Pros

Great sales training in a high pressure environment. Any other sales job will seem easy after this.

Cons

1) Cult-like company culture. Expected to spend a lot of time outside of work with your co-workers. Meltwater will consume your life. 2) Constant prospecting - You will be expected to spend evenings and weekends trying to scrape together enough leads to cold call the next day. This is made extremely difficult as other reps will have already claimed and horded most of the decent leads in their pipeline. Most of the people you call will already have been called multiple times by Meltwater (sometimes in the past few months). 3) Unethical sales practices. Products can be discounted by huge percentages at the end of the month - losing the trust of potential clients. You will be forced to push the (sometimes buggy) product onto potential clients even when you know it's not a good fit (aiding in the companies huge churn rates). 4) Please know what you are getting into. Although your role may be sold as an 'International management training program' you will be cold calling all day in a pressure cooker environment, and 'hitting target' will become the most important thing in your life. Unless you have no experience or desperately need the job - avoid at all costs!

Pros

The product is cool and if properly onboarded customers will get value from it. Coworkers are fairly social If you are new to sales would be a good place to learn the basics

Cons

Probably the cheapest company I have ever worked for. Benefits are below standard, they changed the commission plan every year I was there so that you would make less money, and you are expected to share hotel rooms when you travel. Look up Meltwater on Reddit or LinkedIn. They are known for very aggressive sales tactics which you will be forced to implement on your customers. A culture of micromanagement that comes from the top down. Virtually no avenue for promotion unless you are willing to move or get lucky and someone leaves.
