Pros

At Meltwater my career aspirations have always been taken very seriously. Within our office we have always had many experienced managers and sellers with a very strong emphasis on a solid feedback culture and a trial and error methodology. The expectations in the beginning where realistic, yet challenging. I really appreciated the honest feedback, direct communication and weekly reflections. We have implemented various methodologies, like Meddic and Gap Selling - I can say confidently that Meltwater is the best B2B Sales 'school' I could have imagined to start from the get go. Furthermore I could take more responsibility very early in my career, be part in the recruitment process and manage my first team after just my first 1.5 / 2 years at Meltwater. Culturally - depending on the location / office - the company does what it preaches. In our office we have had a strong team dynamic and bond and organized many team events, like paddle tennis and team dinners to celebrate wins and let go of day to day stress.

Cons

All-in contracts, no compensation of additional long hours - industry standard since you earn what you deliver in sales. The Sales track at Meltwater can take you very far - but only with a strong hands on mentality and the ability to digest and learn from disappointments, because there are naturally many in the learning phase and cold akquisition sales. Previous commission plans have always been combined with a threshold - so you did not always earn for each dollar you sell, which can sometimes be frustrating when there is a time gap in between deals.
