Pros

Very little. The office is nice enough (which is great because you’ll spend 60+ hours a week here). They work with some nice companies.

Cons

Everything. They’ll talk about how good the culture is. It is not. They have created a sub culture where everyone is expected to think the exact same way and having an individual thought or style is not welcome. Work life balance is completely non-existent. If you have an active life outside of work, you will be expected to abandon that for this organisation. The pay is below par, and even worse for the over-the-top hours they’ll expect you to do. If you try to be your own person, management and staff will ensure your time with the business is not long & enjoyable

We are very surprised and sorry to hear you feel this way about your time at Meltwater. Melbourne office has had minimal turnover and the data from the exit interviews do not match the views shared here. As such, what has been described is not representative of the culture and environment we strive to create. Structured employee feedback is taken every quarter and any grave concerns as described above usually bubble up very quickly and are addressed swiftly. That being said we can always improve in all we do, so take your feedback onboard seriously. For instance, acknowledging the growing awareness around mental health at the workplace, the Company has run several sessions on mindfulness at work, r u ok awareness and mental health. Most recently we had Dr Robert Scott PhD, through our actively used Employee Assistance Program (EAP), run a workshops for managers to develop their toolkit in support of our people with mental health, remove the stigma and ensure our people receive the best care. Your feedback is valued. If you feel there are issues that have indeed escaped my attention please reach out to me at Rachel.tschannen@meltwater.com, HR Director, APAC

Pros

The product is cool and if properly onboarded customers will get value from it. Coworkers are fairly social If you are new to sales would be a good place to learn the basics

Cons

Probably the cheapest company I have ever worked for. Benefits are below standard, they changed the commission plan every year I was there so that you would make less money, and you are expected to share hotel rooms when you travel. Look up Meltwater on Reddit or LinkedIn. They are known for very aggressive sales tactics which you will be forced to implement on your customers. A culture of micromanagement that comes from the top down. Virtually no avenue for promotion unless you are willing to move or get lucky and someone leaves.
