Pros
The 4 and 5 star ratings here are probably from 1-3 years back. The company isn’t the same anymore. The only positive things I got from this company are the flexible hours and the easy-to-work-with members of the writing team.
Cons
- They laid off about 90% of the writing team after introducing ChatGPT to the work process. If the writers weren’t observant of the layoffs happening in the background, we would have been laid off in a moment’s notice, too, just like what they did to another department. - The management only addresses the layoffs when a senior member called it out in a company-wide channel. Then afterward, they deleted that message to save face. - They favor newbie in-house employees, who are new to the craft and the industry, and give them senior roles just because they are, I don’t know, white? - Their year-end bonus is a life-changing amount of Php 1,000 - Frequent delayed salary. Our last pays were delayed for almost a week. - Overall, they treat Filipino remote workers as dispensable. We’re just another name in the Slack channel. They take advantage of Filipino labor, which was instrumental to the success of the company during the pandemic, with below market rates. The sad part is, Filipino workers can’t file a complaint or assert their labor rights because the company has no registered entity in the Philippines. - So, if you’re looking for a remote company, not this. You deserve so much better.
