Pros

The overall culture is pretty good compared to many bigger CROs. There is generally little backbiting, gossip, and internal strife. The office environment is friendly and warm and the general attitude is one of problem-solving over blaming. They are careful to pay well and offer great paid time off and flexibility. They are rapidly expanding and growing in the US, so the opportunity for advancement in exchange for effort and achievement is real. The "matrix management" scheme is not in place here, which has advantages in that most people report directly to somebody who knows their job function intimately. The smaller size of this company allows direct access to even high-level colleagues in other departments, empowering employees to solve problems head-on. They tend to hire people who are extraordinarily qualified for their jobs.

Cons

The higher leadership is not accustomed to some accepted US practices in the industry, so sometimes new employees are disappointed to have less work from home time or a traditional direct management structure. The "matrix management" scheme is not in place here, so those with experience at other CROs will definitely have to re-adjust. The proprietary TMF system is not as agile as others, however it does seem to be evolving, so time will tell. Better integrated database filter/sort/search functions would be enormously beneficial. The open communication structure sometimes causes WAY TOO MANY cooks in the kitchen, which can impact efficiency and negatively impact billable hours.

Pros

Great place to work. Coworkers and management were very supportive. Had a very positive we-are-all-on-the-same-team atmosphere.

Cons

Not many, it really was a great place to work.

Pros

Some great team members Some leadership (middle managers) are great and truly care The company does a lot of good work

Cons

- Senior Leadership in Switzerland is 100% out of touch with reality, setting goals that are not attainable - They hire some questionable people to make decisions - If you're not in the EU, you're garbage - Max "raise" is 10% every 3 years for most people, unless you're in HR - Promotions can be squashed from the Swiss if they don't like you, even if your manager and director want the promotion - The sales team is full of legacy vets who can't sell, therefore the rest of the company gets punished - Career advancement is a joke - Company claims they listen to data, but often times ignores it - CEO is non existent and uses mouth pieces to pass along his messages - Active attempts at cutting anyone out who doesn't drink the kool-aid, or the swiss don't feel are true experts at their job (based on what, who knows)
