Pros

I love working for Primark express orally the store I am at now, (having worked in three). The managers are great and generally lovely. When I moved to uni I transferred to the store I am at now and I lived alone and didn't have any friends. My manager Mrs Huggurt took me under her wing and made work life bearable. She made me feel at easy and feel like I was needed within the store. The holiday allowance is plenty for a part time weekend worker and I have never had a problem with the hourly pay. Yes it's not as much as other places but it's higher than the national minimum wage in Scotland. My branch of Primark isn't a large store it's actually the smallest one I have worked in but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love my job here, no to days are exactly the same and the managers listen to your view and take it in. I have recently been trained up on the customer service desk and love my new role within the store. The college I work with army friends there like a family I don't have and have only added to my uni experience.

Cons

Even though my contract is only 8 hours I do 16-20 a week but this can differ depending on the time of year. Currently now that Xmas is over my store cut everyone's hours back to contracted 8 hour, this can last a month sometimes to so the pay check are quite different these months.

Pros

You get lots of PTO up front as a part timer and can gain flex hours overtime. Get a 50 cent raise every six months.

Cons

Was told during onboarding that if a Christian comes into the store spreading the gospel, I have to kick them out. This includes the mention of the Jesus without the church invite. Managers claim its rude and if a customer does it, they get booted. Faced harassment from a customer and management didn't let me switch too a different department. Extremely high turnover rate and managers don't replace them, making your job more stressful during peak hours. Hard to use PTO. Little to no training. Too many bachelor and master holding part timers who get lucked out of moving up in the company. Managers give some people no task while pilling on multiple tasks on one person. Too many managers to deal with (and usually never find) and the full timers make you do the dirty work while they "unpack boxes". Its a pro-LGBT anti christian company. If they want to be pro-LGBT, than more power to them. But anti-Christian is discriminatory and unnecessary.
