SAP does, in fact, offer a tremendous amount of learning & development opportunities. But with our company being so global, we really encourage employees to take it upon themselves to define their goals and document them. We strive for a learning lifestyle and learning culture at SAP. Did you know that we have thousands of certified coaches and mentors in our database? These internal SAP colleagues can personally help you with anything from career progression, to overcoming difficult situations, to improving your communication, presentation skills, enhancing your leadership skills, helping you define your career path, and more. On the SAP internal portal, go type in /go/peerlearning and you’ll be connected to the right coaches you need. Additionally, you can find more by entering /go/careerdevelopment in the portal. SAP encourages a culture of learning and making learning itself a lifestyle. But we also support employees’ independent quest for knowledge, shared learning through networking, and the ability to learn anywhere (supported by the mobile apps we have developed). If you need some one-on-one guidance for your development, you can find over 500+ certified SAP coaches to help you define your personal career path by typing /go/peerlearning on the SAP internal portal homepage. Additionally, you can go to SuccessMap and find thousands of free instructor-led courses, trainings, books, and self-paced courses. I’d also recommend typing in /go/careerdevelopment in the internal portal homepage and you’ll be amazed at what SAP has for us right under our noses!

Pros

I really liked my role at SAP. After being a cloud Customer Success Manager supporting strategic clients for several years, I moved into a group doing digital customer outreach including producing newsletters, release enablement, webcasts, documentation, event registrations, etc. Salary and bonuses were good, no complaints there.

Cons

No real cons for the job that I was in, except that our group was eliminated by the corporate restructuring and reduction in workforce in North America in 2025. I would have loved to stay but unfortunately we probably showed up on a restructuring spreadsheet somewhere and it was determined that our services were no longer needed. We off-boarded most of our work to other existing employees (who already had full time jobs), which felt unfair to them, but that is how it shook out.
