Pros

No pros to speak of.

Cons

Day 1: Told I would be called by a driver and asked to meet for first day of work. Driver told me he was in a location quite a ways from me. I would have had to drive 45 minutes there and then probably over an hour back during rush hour traffic just to work for 4 hours. Day 2: I was told I would be assigned to a driver, never happened, no calls Day 3: I was assigned to a driver, driver never called, called the coordinator and she said there was a mistake? Day 4, Day 5, and Day 6: All the same as Day 3, more disappointment. I ended up finding another job. They texted me asking if I wanted to be assigned to a driver the next day. My reply was "No thank you, I have found employment elsewhere." They assigned me to a driver anyway and the driver called me the next day. After many phone calls, getting ready for work multiply days for no reason, and constant disappointment, I never actually got to work.

Pros

-benefits -coworkers -being around planes - 5 hour shifts -good pay -employee discounts -discounted flights/jumpseat

Cons

-long training on pc -management can be a bit mean -early morning hours -if any delay due to weather or something wrong with plane you stay later -union workers get away with anything -management pays attention more to non union then union -favoritism -dont seem to favorable to disabled or spectrum people -lack of understanding to any personal or medical issues -as management your always having to be there if you miss more then 3 days or get sick or injured you are fired -nonunion gets punished over unionized workers

Pros

The pay is excellent .health care is 100 % paid with 100 %coverage...with exception to eye and dental which is about 70%..coverage...pension is outstanding..full package with wages and benefits is worth 130,000 yearly..without a college education I am grateful for the standard of living UPS HAS AFFORDED ME AND MY FAMILY!...and with 27 years of service I now get 6 weeks vacation with 8 sick days..and 9 paid holidays...we work hard like many people in the work force but we are well compensated!.

Cons

The only con is while your children are young you give up a lot of family time..I never got to watch my kids play sports and missed a lot of their growing years...the job can be hard on your home life but if you can make it through those years you and your family will enjoy the financial freedom that UPS provides...and now I look forward to a prosperous retirement!...so hang in there all you young drivers...
