Pros
The Air Force has a lot to offer including job security, excellent benefits, first class training and education opportunities, and travel. Additionally, for the most part, the people you work with are passionate about their jobs and willing to make sacrifices many others would run from. Through my AF service, I have gained a first class education and a varied and unique level of experience.
Cons
My biggest complaint is that once you have chosen either an enlisted or officer track, it is difficult (an later in your career, impossible) to advance beyond a certain rank. As the Air Force does not have Warrant Officers, senior enlisted are limited in their opportunities for advancement. Additionally, the nature of military service is a two edged sword. On the one hand, deployments offer great opportunities, but on the other, the require great sacrifice from the member and their families.
