Pros

Opportunity to grow professionally. Practically any career you might want to break into but dont know how or have the means to do so can be taken care of by the Air Force. Have a regular career and a part time career simultaneously. Access to good afordable health insurance and pension. Free travel on military flights. In the event of loss of regular job, earn money by going temporarily full time on active duty. The Air Force has become a second family to many due to camraderie and the fact that we are in this together. Opportunities to volunteer for duty in countries you've wanted to visit but would have to pay good money just to go on vacation there. The gratitude of a proud nation..

Cons

Shaving facial hair and keeping hair cut to regulations. (The razor is not kind to some.) The more you are promoted the greater the chance you will have stories of missing important events in life i.e. weddings, graduations etc. Possible deployment to countries few want to visit. Air Force life is not for everyone as I have seen countless airmen come and go. Some complaints I have heard from people leaving: Its too boring, we sit around doing nothing all day, they never give us enough time to finish our work. We have too much work and too little time, too stressful, hard on family for me being away, I would rather spend my weekend at home relaxing.

Pros

Teaches you a trade while paying you. Social appreciation. Purpose. If you have no idea what you want to do with your life especially as far as a career goes, run to a recruiter. Regardless of whereever you come from a military career is your stepping stone into middle class and up living and career opportunity.

Cons

Every extra dollar you attempt to make beyond your rank will require more work than you will be paid to do. The real payoff monetarily you get from competing in the military will come in to play during your post life. Confidence, courage, accountability, etc are not standard attributes in people at all.
