Pros

Moving from university to a full time job is a big step but with Enterprise’s management programme you are able to start straight away in a business environment with a lot of responsibility. The first year is fully structured and mapped out in front of you, which for me was great as I knew what I was working towards. The people are great and what really makes coming to work enjoyable. From the senior management team who are more present than I’ve seen in any other company to the people you work with everyday they are all so helpful and go out their way for you. Within the year you are able to move up to a manager running businesses that have a high profit which you are paid off - this was something I have seen first hand with people being promoted after 6 if they really push themselves.

Cons

The main thing people talk about with Enterprise is the hours but at the start of anyone’s career it’s not easy so if you are willing to work a little extra and push yourself this will not be an issue for you. Also the first year you will be in a very customer facing role so you have to enjoy helping customers to be able to succeed.

Pros

Fast promotion opportunities for those who are driven. Not worth it if you don’t have a long term focus. But the company does hire awesome people that make work enjoyable that would be other wise unbearable. There are also great opportunities to network with upper management who will mentor you and help you along the way. Also most branches have snacks, drinks, and buy lunch for staff. (If you have a good BRM) IF YOU AREN'T A MOTIVATED AMBITIOUS PERSON, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY YOU WONT LAST. But if you are, this company will give you the tools to develop into a highly touted person in the business world and will open up a lot of internal and external career opportunities.

Cons

Hours are heavy. For what we do, we are definitely underpaid as MTs, especially if you are one that takes your job seriously.

Pros

The opportunity to drive a wide range of cars,

Cons

Where to even begin on this... first of all the hours are inhumane, we are talking 60-70 hour weeks, if you calculate your hourly rate it is under the government national living wage? Which for a multi billion pound international company is simply disgusting. The way you are treated by your managers is hideous, they expect you to sell excess protection to every customer, which is an absolute rip off anyway (can double customer rental cost) so overall its a very hard sell. If I did not sell, management would patronise, belittle and question your efforts (65 hours into your working week). Furthermore, as a graduate you will have a training folder to complete for your promotion, in my three months there I did not have one hour of folder progression time with my manager (part of the managers job spec!!). I was also shouted at on various occasions, vocally abused for doing very little wrong. You are effectively a taxi driver/car cleaner in a suit. So guys have confidence in your own ability, look around for other companies who treat you like a human being, have a range of company benefits and a great reputation, in my various job interviews many hiring managers stated that they had seen many people leave in a short space of time (business experts think the scheme is terrible). Best of luck in your job search!! And if you read this plesse don't even consider this, it will ruin your confidence, social life and personality.
