Pros

Great Stepping Stone if you don't have much experience Learn a lot in a short period of time The people you meet at the company can be friends for life Hopefully you have a great group to work for (state) and a great RVP. I've had great Managers and horrible managers.

Cons

Work-life balance is non existent- you have to fight to take your rightful time off that you earned. If you call in sick you get berrated. As a Trainee (depending on your manager) you get priority for lunch and your hours are monitored more. As soon as you get into management you "get a pay raise" but it's not guaranteed so the majority of people take a pay cut but keep you around with the promise of promotion---as a branch manager you get a "company car". Pay structure is really messed up in my opinion. There are things that are out of your control that affect your pay like remarketing (reselling the cars). If someone damages your fleet that comes out of your check. They call it "running your own business" but in reality its a safety net for upper management to not have any skin in the game when in comes to risk. The amount of politics that is involved is crazy. You may be more qualified but if the hiring manager has someone in their own area, it most likely you will not get the position. It's a man's industry--as a woman, you have to work twice as hard.
