Pros

Met a lot of good people

Cons

Read this review & all the other bad ones. This isn’t trip advisor where they are complaining about small things for the sake of it. Be aware of the bad, because they are the real reviews. Other reviews are requested by HR staff to bluff it out and try and see the other side. The reality is, this company boast of making “more than Disney” “top X in the world to work for...” They even boast on this website of “£5 to £10 billion (GBP) per year”. 3 months into COVID. They made redundancies of 50% of their staff. All tenure of 4 years to 19 years. You will be a number. A number who works 50-60 hours a week, no lunch, no life. You’ll take abuse from customers about how bad the company are for over promising but nothing will change. Use my trial and error of 7 years at the company and save yourself the hassle. They won’t change. It’s not worth sticking out. You’ll work yourself to the bone and when your face fits great when it doesn’t you’re done. Very toxic Environment. Popularity is key. I worked for 7 years at several locations and gave most of my daily hours to them. Myself and many others were made redundant and they kept newer staff over experience. Why? Because they weren’t afraid to challenge decision. They don’t want to evolve or be innovative they want to keep margins low and your self confidence lower. After getting told you were redundant they never spoke to you after. No letter or email of thanks. No text message or call. Money in the bank and disposed of. Dont waste your early 20s working to the bone for a company who will chuck you at the first chance. There is no autonomy for how to run the business, if you have any suggestions they won’t listen. Area managers can’t even make a decision on their own staff if general manager doesn’t agree based on biases.

Pros

*great as an entry level position *training & development *monthly fee gets you a company car *the people are great! *fair amount of opportunities to move up as long as you are willing to move *recently changed sales culture so now it's not as big of a factor in promotions (also means you don't have to be the unwelcomed pushy salesperson) *decent benefit packages *great maternity leave program with a not too common phase-back period *building long term friendships

Cons

*poor work/life balance (managers will regularly work 12+hr days with no lunch sometimes) *you never seem to have enough cars, but when you try to plan your fleet to make it through the day, you're suddenly not aggressive enough *managers are expected to do everything (manage sales, market accounts almost daily, collect ARs, employee development, job interviews, etc.) while managing an office full of people waiting for their car to arrive and being understaffed by 1-2 employees all month *positions above Branch Manager don't come by too often in smaller Areas or Groups. Area Managers tend to stay in their position until fired or they find something else *a lot of upper management will give their "back in my days" stories as a way to let you know they were better than you, not taking into account new challenges presented with stricter ethical guidelines, sales practices, easier access of technology for our customers to compare prices, etc.

Pros

Great recruitment process (they don't just hire anyone which is really good as it shows they care about who works for them) interview process is difficult and you have to prove your resilient at every stage. Fantastic training as well, training in your first week, training folder which you work through. Job itself isn't too difficult and the systems and processes are easy to pick up as they use up to date software. Senior management get involved in the branch which is amazing to see, area and regional managers included.

Cons

There are quite a lot of cons of working at Enterprise and I wish I'd looked more closely at them before accepting the job. The hours are long (40-50 hours per week) some people in other branches are more like 60 hours. Airport location the shifts are horrendous - 14:00-00:00 but not getting finished till 01:30 on most occasions. So, please understand that you are working very long and unsociable hours, this is not a nice Monday-Friday graduate job. In busier branches it seems they overbook and don't have enough cars for the volume of customers they've booked - overall really badly organised. They need to hire more assistant managers who are fully trained in order for it to be more organised. There is simply too many trainees and interns who don't always know what they are doing and not enough people who know the job inside and out. Advice - hire customer service advisors who are not on a graduate scheme if you want sales monkeys! Another massive con is the salary. It's advertised as being competitive, however when you compare it to working 50-60 hours a week it's pennies. Also bonus is a complete myth - I worked ridiculously hard, creating thousands of pounds in revenue (higher than some very experienced members of the team) and received next to nothing bonus, coming from sales previously this was massively disappointing. Holidays aren't great - 20 days plus 5 choice days. But don't be off sick ever! As they use each day you're off sick as a choice day. Which if you're off 5 days means you only have 20 days holiday. I think for such a demanding job with terrible hours they should reward their hardworking staff with better annual leave. Don't get me wrong - progression does happen, usually after a year you will be promoted to assistant manager of an available branch. But the salary increase is not much and I've seen senior management out cleaning cars at 1AM. Not necessarily a job you want to do for not amazing pay. Branch managers are also working 70 hours plus. Please think carefully about taking this job and try speak to people who currently work there or have previously been in the job.
