Pros

For a student in college or just coming out, its a pretty good place to be. They worrk with you to make sure you go to class and can work. Just don't think of it as a long term career. If you look at those in mid-upper management you can tell there are enough positions to go around for even 1% of those that may want to stick with it and advance in the company. I'll say that its a good place to get a start in sales and marketing. The people are great to work with, mainly because you spend so much time there.

Cons

As I listed above, good luck moving ahead. Their business model just isn't geared to sustainable employment there. They do hire and promote from within, but if someone gets a job because they are good friends with the right person, it has no bearing on their ability to do the job.

Pros

It is somewhat difficult to talk about the company because I have completely washed my hands of the experience, however, I will agree with the common consensus that it is great resume builder and way to gain professional experience. I do not want to completely dog the company, I learned a tremendous amount about company culture and I feel more confident to take on responsibility within the work force. You truly will learn about all aspects of business and encounter situations with customers that will require you to think on your feet.

Cons

The pay is ridiculous when you factor in taxes and you compare it not only to what your peers at other jobs are making, but to the amount of work and energy you put out. The job truly does not pay enough and promotions are typically slow, if not stagnant. On, the other side, if you click with management and spend your social lives together (what little of it you have anyway), then you will probably advance more quickly. The company is very "cult-like" and the minute you start to show signs you are easing away from their 'group think', then you are slowly weeded out...but it is so subtle that you may not even notice it at first. If you honestly do not see yourself moving towards advancement after a year or two, or if you have no real interest in the rental industry, do yourself a favor and find another job (the stress and depression are really not worth it). But for some people, they seem to thrive off of the company and have been there for years, so it can be a productive career as well.

Pros

Great place to get experience in sales and customer service. You'll have plenty of time during the day to learn sales skills over the phone, since that is the majority of the day. You'll also have the ability to drive all different vehicles all of the time. The office environment is great! You'll never have a dull moment throughout the day. Overall since you are out and about and multitasking to the fifth degree your days hardly every drag.

Cons

The biggest downside to starting out at Enterprise is that you will have four to five people telling you what to do. At my office there is my branch manager, my assistant manager, and two management assistants that all delegate stuff right down to me. The other part is not completing something crucial to the daily operations because you have to stop everything and drive a customer home or pick them up. I have cause a few headaches for my branch manager because cars return and you know they have but you can't pend any contracts because you have to have a sense of urgency and hop to any customer's wants and needs. Thats where the ESQI comes into play.
