Pros

You get solid experience and you can learn a lot about industry. If you get good informal mentors and coaches you can learn a lot. If you get unlucky or don't play politics well, you won't go anywhere. Full of super smart, earnest young people, but crazy burnout rates. Don't stay more that 3 years.

Cons

You can suffer from the brand if you stay in the Madison area or if you try to get out of software/IT.

Pros

Travel benefits such as miles, hotel points, rental cars, etc. Beautiful campus including offices, dining areas, and "parks" Food at cost with free coffee, juice, sparkling water Great starting pay

Cons

Lots of hours (55-70), including up to 14 hours on site then a few hours on your own project Unchecked feedback can impact bonuses and raises negatively 401(k) only matches half, up to 6% on your part with full vesting taking 5 years Training provided but not very helpful depending on when you start the project
