Pros

Interesting problems, coworkers are generally excellent, beautiful campus. Compensation is good for the area. Sabbatical program is unique. Work is meaningful.

Cons

Management is stubborn and refuses categorically to listen to employee concerns. This has become more evident lately, especially with regards to the COVID-19 response. Despite being a healthcare company, Epic insists that employees return to the office in August without giving good reasons to justify the decision. Communication from leadership is often tone-deaf and demotivating. Employee satisfaction is a non-concern. Stock options are awful. Vacation policy is stingy, with only seven and a half paid holidays to supplement.

Pros

Culinary, bright coworkers, cool campus

Cons

Management doesn't even pretend to care about its employees. You're treated as replaceable - and you are. Additionally, there isn't a lot of room for growth after you've gained roughly a year's experience in TS if you're not looking to go into management. This makes it even harder to leave if you want to down the line.

Pros

- Pay - Coworkers are, for the most part, great to work with - Middle management have been excellent leaders and allies in my experience (YMMV) - Tech stack is finally starting to catch up with the times - When there isn't a pandemic, the campus is truly great; if I'm still here when the pandemic dies down, I sincerely look forward to going back to enjoy it

Cons

- Hours can be long if you aren't assertive about work/life balance - Too many processes, many of which have demonstrably negative ROI - When there is a pandemic, upper management would rather force us to work in half-sized broom closet offices or to wear masks all day while doubled up in an office, than just let us work from home a few more months
