-It's a good job straight out of college - you'll receive decent benefits & pay. -You'll have the opportunity to earn Epic application certifications, which can be valuable for your future job hunt. -The work is occasionally interesting.

Cons

-Management is often an "old-boys club", and difficult to engage with or relate to. -The workload is unsustainable and will stress you out. -The work is occasionally mind-numbing.

Pros

Compensation for beginning roles is fantastic. You won't find a better place. Epic has a sweet campus but don't be fooled into believing everyone has their own office.

Cons

No work/life balance. You will get into work at 7:15 am and leave at 6:00 pm. Epic can't hold employees due to this. As a result of Epic losing many employees after a year or two, their base level managers have only been with the company for maybe a year and a half to two years. The training system is not effective for all learning styles. If you learn best by having little hands on instruction and can read a 400 page manual and know the system inside and out, then you'll have no problem.

Pros

-Great salary and bonuses -Lots of opportunity and responsibility early on in your career - get to work alongside best hospital leaders in the US. You'll get thrown in the fire and aren't going to spend your first two years behind the scenes or as a note taker, like you may at other consulting type positions. -Good benefits -Young and intelligent workforce

Cons

-Not a lot of structure - company internal structure and policies seem to change drastically every year and a half. Unclear of what the path is for upward mobility. -Once you've done 1 or 2 projects, there's not a lot left to discover. Your job role and responsibilities never really change or grow and the work can get pretty monotonous. Management's idea of keeping longer tenured employees engaged is by throwing them into a new application. -Management is young and inexperienced. -High-stress atmosphere. Expectation that you need to always "do more". Often that "more" comes in the form of internal work and process changes which is in turn not very well thought out. This leads to a very Ivy League competitive atmosphere of "one-upmanship' and the aforementioned cyclical behavior of internal processes/structure.
