      Pros

      Get to do a broad array of tasks on a daily basis - everything from technical troubleshooting, project management, customer service, to consulting/guiding customers. I also learn new things every day which keeps the job fresh and me motivated. You also can't find many places with as many intelligent and motivated coworkers.

      Cons

      While there can be a variety of responsibilities and paths I can follow to help clients within my role, there's not much growth for advancement within Epic itself.

      Pros

      Epic allows a significant amount of autonomy in your job. The description is intentionally vague -- we are here to make our customers successful; there are various approaches that can lead to success. Epic will allow you to pursue various approaches. We are personally accountable for the success of projects, and are not just a cog in a machine. If you do your job well, the pay is very good -- they will pay TS just as much as developers at Google/Facebook/etc earn, but the cost of living is far lower in the midwest than on the coast. For me, this is not just a job -- At this point I assume I will retire from Epic at some far-off point in the future.

      Cons

      The downside to personal accountability is that you may never quite feel like you are free -- even on vacation you may still find yourself wanting to check in on projects that you are involved in.

      Be Part of a Team

      Pros

      At Epic, there's always someone who has your back. Your teammates and colleagues will drop what they're doing to answer a question. Your team leads and TCs are glad when you escalate. It's a supportive environment with tons of resources to help you succeed. I think the horizontal management structure works really well at Epic

      Cons

      I didn't love living in the Madison, WI area.
